What we collect and why
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name, email, phone, address | To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange your booking. |
| Service, date, location, messages, quote and invoice details | To provide the service you asked for and keep the related business records. |
| Payment amount, date, method and reference | To confirm payments, issue invoices and meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not store full card numbers. |
| Photographs, including family or guests | To provide the photography service and deliver your gallery. Children are photographed with guardian consent. |
| Allergies, skin conditions or pregnancy information you share | To provide makeup or hair services safely. This is special personal information, and we collect only what is needed. |
| IP address, security tokens and rate-limit records | To protect the website and forms against abuse. |
We rely on your consent, the steps needed to enter or perform our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in running the business, and legal obligations such as tax record-keeping. You may withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting processing that already happened.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not become bookings: up to 24 months after the last contact.
- Client, invoice and payment records: at least five years after the end of the relevant tax year.
- Photographs and online galleries: gallery access follows the period in your selected product terms or agreed quote, after which the gallery may be archived or deleted. Please keep your own copy.
- Rate-limit records: short-lived, normally deleted within 24 hours. Provider security logs follow the provider's retention settings.
When information is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify or securely archive it. Backups may take a reasonable period to expire.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, delete it where we no longer need it, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Email our contact page. We may ask you to verify your identity and will respond within a reasonable time, where possible within 30 days. We will tell you if a fee applies.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator at [email protected] or inforegulator.org.za. Its address is JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001; please check its website for current details.
Photographs, children and marketing
Publishing client photographs is optional and separate from booking. You can decline or withdraw permission without affecting your booking. For a child, the parent or legal guardian must give permission. We do not sell client images.
A booking request does not subscribe you to marketing. We send promotional email only where POPIA permits it, and every message includes a way to opt out.
We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The current version is always on this page. This version was last updated on 20 October 2026.
